Motherease Wizard Uno is different from all other all in one nappies because it has double elasticized leg openings, elastic in the nappy and elastic in the attached waterproof cover. This means it is much less likely to leak and works in the same way as a two part nappy system in that it provides two lines of defence. The nappy pad in the Wizard Uno Organic is made with organic cotton and contains no polyester in the fabric weave. The pad is sewn onto the PUL outer wrap so works just like a disposable nappy. The PUL waterproof outer has leak resistant bindings at the legs and waist which stops moisture from wicking outwards. The waist is adjustable through a series of poppers and each nappy has an elasticated waist and back. The waterproof cover is made of the same world class quality fabric just like the Motherease separate wraps.
Wizard Uno organic are reasonably quick drying for an organic natural material nappy. Wash water flows through easier and water extraction through spinning is more effective, it therefore drys as quickly as any separated pocket nappy.
Wizard Uno Newborn is also available in Stay Dry material and also in onesize/birth to potty.
In my opinion – Motherease nappies are world class in fit and quality of design and material used. If you are looking for an easy to use organic all in one nappy then you won’t go wrong with the Uno Wizard. These are excellent easy to use newborn nappies but are expensive so probably not worth buying more than a couple as your newborn will most likely grow quickly and they will be out of them by 2 – 5 months old.
My tips – I used fleece liners to keep my little ones bottom dry as the organic cotton did feel very wet when left on his/her bottom. If using bamboo boosters to increase absorbency there is no need to remove them for washing as they eject out by themselves in the wash, so just chuck the whole dirty nappy into your pail.
Washing and Care – The binding on the Motherease products are the reason they are so fabulously waterproof so it’s important to treat the binding with respect and make sure it can’t get caught on velcro etc in the wash. Damage to the binding caused by catching on velcro is not covered by the Motherease Manufacturers Warranty. So if you have velcro fastenings on other nappies make sure you put the Motherease nappies into a separate mesh bag to keep them away from the velcro nappies in the washing machine. Please read carefully our full ‘washing and care instructions’. All nappies and wraps must be washed according to our care instructions otherwise the manufacturers guarantee will not be valid. All new nappies must be washed before they are used. Please note that when buying a large number of cloth nappies you should just wash a few in the first instance, and check you are happy with your choice, as I cannot refund on used or washed nappies. This nappy can be tumble dried on a low heat, however it is advisable to only tumble dry occasionally as it does shorten the life of the nappy and of course cost you more.
