On average, one woman will use over 11,000 tampons or pads in their lifetime, which will end up in landfill or in the sea. Generally a woman uses up to 22 items of sanitary protection every period. Reusable Sanitary Pads are available are designed to make life more comfortable, and your period more fun. Charity initiative – for each pack of pads sold Earthwise will make and donate 1 pad to an orphaned girl in Kenya through the Nasio trust. In some parts of Africa something as normal as a period can cause social stigma and awkwardness especially for young girls. Access to information about menstruation and sanitary wear is limited so we think this charity initiative is a fantastic idea.
