BRANDS
Bumgenius
–
Bumgenius are an American brand of cloth nappy. They are made to a high standard and fit most babies incredibly well. Fastening with poppers and mostly birth to potty nappies they have various options available, we at the Washable Nappy Company sell the Freetime, the V5 pocket, the organic Elemental and the Flip. Plus we now stock the Bumgenius BIG and BIGGER, reusable nappies for bigger older children. We also stock their training pants which are wonderful and definitely worth the money. Much as I would prefer to only stock UK made nappies the Bumgenius brand are such great nappies and work so well with nearly every parent loving them that I would be a fool not to stock them. I used them on my own children and loved loved loved them. I am sure you will too.

Motherease
–
Motherease are a Canadian company who have been making reusable cloth nappies for years. Their airflow wrap is probably the best known PUL wrap and is fantastic and rarely leaks. We used Motherease nappies and wraps on our children and they worked a treat. You can’t go wrong with a Motherease, made to a high standard, they are quality cloth nappies that really work
Totsbots
–
Totsbots make Easyfit, Peenut and Bamboozle stretch cloth nappies. They are a UK based company and produce all of their products with ethically sourced raw materials, plastic products etc. It is of the utmost importance to TotsBots that their products are produced in a fair way and a happy workforce always makes the best products. They manufacture all nappies, wraps and accessories at their own factory in the UK and in this current economic climate they feel it is important to employ and train people in need of work. A couple of factories have recently closed in Glasgow and Totsbots have been able to add some highly qualified machinists to their team and they are one of the few growing manufacturing businesses in the UK. They try to keep the carbon footprint as low as possible when it comes to production, packaging and shipping and work with local businesses wherever they can. They are a great innovative UK company
ACCESSORIES
Accessory Kits
–
Accessory kits and individual accessories available to use with your real nappies. We sell a large selection of accessories including buckets, wet bags, mesh bags, boosters, liners and wipes. We sell them individually or as part of kits which will give you bigger discounts. 10% off for returning customers and for spends over £100 but buying in a kit will give you even bigger savings.
Boosters & Inserts
–
To be completely successful with your real nappies extra boosting will be required at some point. How much a baby wees varies considerably, from baby to baby and from stage to stage. Most newborns wee little and often and you are changing the real nappy, not because it is wet through but because it is soiled, therefore boosting is not needed. However often at around 4 months a baby is settled into a routine, still not on solid food and getting hungrier, so drinking lots and the washable nappy may need changing every hour instead of every 3 or 4 hours. So the best solution is to boost the nappy to make it more absorbent and last longer. Simple. Boosters can be made from bamboo or cotton, or even micro fibre. I have found that bamboo is the best, slimmest and most absorbent so generally recommend using that. But anything can be used including muslins or prefolds. You should find that having a few bamboo boosters in your kit makes dealing with these changes easy.
Buckets, Mesh Bags & Wet Bags
–
Buckets and Nappy Pails are great for storing dirty nappies in, although most parents no longer soak their nappies a bucket with good fitting lid is an ideal place to keep the dirty nappies until you wash them. Mesh bags are a useful but not essential accessory, line your bucket with a mesh bag and lift out all your dirty nappies easily and without having to touch them and put straight into the machine and wash inside the bag. Our advice is to not shut the mesh bag in the machine though, leave it open so the nappies can all tumble out. Large wet bags can be used instead of a bucket and some of the really large ones will hold up to 20 dirty nappies. Smaller wet bags keep dirty nappies away from any other items in your changing bag when you are out and about with your baby. They are an essential part of any washable nappy kit and can be used as swim bags for older children.
Detergents, Oils and Creams
–
Detergents, oils, sprays and creams that can be used with cloth nappies and washable wipes
Mattress Protectors
–
Waterproof protective sheets for cots and beds
Muslins
–
Muslin squares are a must have with any baby and every parent has some lying around. Did you know they can also be used as real nappies ? Just like a flat nappy they can be folded in the same way as terry squares or prefolds and put inside an outer waterproof wrap. Perfect if you ever find that all your cloth nappies are wet or in the wash and you need an emergency stand by. Or to increase your nappy count. Muslins are made from cotton and you can also get Muslins made from organic cotton and bamboo
Nappy Liners
–
Nappy Liners are used to either line the nappy and aid catching poo, which is then flushed down the toilet with the paper liner, or rinsed and washed or thrown away. Or if they are fleece liners they can be used to line bamboo or cotton nappies to make the nappies ‘ stay dry’ next to your babies bottom. There are lots of brands of liners and liners can be made from cellulose, bamboo or corn starch or if they are washable then they are generally made from fleece. If you are going to flush the disposable liners down the toilet then please only do so with solids and throw away in your bin if just wet with wee as the less we put down our toilets the better. Also check that the paper liners are 100% biodegradable with no plastics used – rest assured all our disposable liners are fully biodegradable.

TRIAL KITS
Trial Kits
–
Mini kits designed for parents wishing to trial a few nappies before committing to one brand or style. This is a great way to trial washable nappies, you spread the cost, see what you like and the nappies will be part of your kit regardless of whether you buy more of that particular brand. Most parents find using a mixture of cloth nappies works best as no one nappy is perfect for every situation. Trial kits are an excellent way in to understanding how each style works and what suits you and your baby.
